According to history, in 1934, Joe Vincent Meigs, professor of Gynecology at Harvard University, began a description of certain cases where some types of ovarian tumors were associated (they included fibromas, thecomas, granulosa cell tumors and Brenner tumor). benign and uncommon. An exhaustive review of 9900 records from the gynecology oncology clinic of the La Trinidad Teaching Medical Center and the La Floresta Medical Institute between 2016-2023 was carried out and a 56-year-old patient was found, who reported a hysterectomy with preservation of adnexes ago. 16 years old due to benign pathology, without hormone replacement therapy, who presents pain and increased volume in the abdominal region for 3 months, so she goes to a doctor, where she is evaluated and referred for consultation. Thoraco-abdomino-pelvic CT, endoscopy, tumor markers ca 125 and CEA were performed as relevant studies to rule out malignant pathology and thus be able to plan exploratory laparotomy. The presence of Meigs Syndrome is a challenging clinical condition that requires a multidisciplinary approach to ensure adequate treatment. Promoting the registry of cases of Meigs Syndrome in Venezuela will allow research and comparison of the behaviors used and thus create an effective protocol for patients.
