Abstract

Introduction: the preservation of the limb as a premise in the treatment of bone tumors has required the use of increasingly complex reconstructions. In Venezuela, the use of grafts is decisive in a high percentage of bone tumor pathologies. Methods: The type of study is observational, descriptive, retrospective and multicenter comparative. Results: the outstanding age was between 31-60 years (35.5%); The predominant sex was male with twenty-seven (27) cases 60%; In the graft category, the Autologous obtained thirty-seven (37) cases 69.8%; The most relevant subtype of bone graft was the Non-Vascularized Fibula with twenty (20) cases obtaining 37.7%; The type of graft due to pathology was Enchondroma with seven (7) non-Vascularized Fibular graft, two (2) cases of Iliac Crest graft, one (1) case of cortico-cancellous and cancellous; The Aneurysmal Bone Cyst required the use of a double Autologous Non-Vascularized Fibula and Iliac Crest graft in two (2) cases; The relevant complication was donor site pain with ten (10) cases. Conclusions: The present investigation responds to the general objective of analyzing the treatment of skeletal tumors, through the systematic review of clinical records to determine the use of bone graft, at the La Trinidad Teaching Medical Center and at the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (Old Padre Machado Hospital), located in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Caracas, years 2013-2023; Useful information was obtained regarding the category of bone graft and its relationship with the different musculoskeletal tumors
