Simulators for the placement of the Veress needle in laparoscopic surgeries are a crucial tool in surgical training. This device allows doctors to practice safe access to the abdominal cavity, avoiding complications such as vascular or intestinal injuries. By recreating the resistance of abdominal layers, simulators help develop precision and control, reducing risks in real patients. Objective: To develop a simulator for Veress needle insertion in laparoscopic surgeries at the Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, from February to November 2024. Methods: A descriptive, observational, and comparative study including 25 specialists in Gynecology and General Surgery. The simulator was validated through observation of medical techniques and survey analysis. Results: 84 % of participants required three attempts for correct needle placement; 16 % needed four or more attempts, with a 20 % risk of vascular injury in these cases. 68 % handled the tissue with minimal damage, and 52 % showed efficiency in instrument use. Regarding the simulator, 72 % stated that it resembles real surgical experience, and 96 % considered it useful for teaching. Conclusion: The simulator proved to be an effective tool for surgical training, improving skills and reducing complication risks. The positive perception of participants supports its implementation in clinical training
