Abstract

Inguinal hernia (IH) is the most common surgical condition in children, with a prevalence of 0.8 to 4.4%. Laparoscopic techniques can repair the (HI) faster, better visualization, less pain, quick recovery and return to physical activity, with better aesthetic effects. Objectives: To analyze the correlation of the results of laparoscopic surgical treatment (IH) techniques and the level of satisfaction of pediatric patients. Methodology: Analytical observational study, non-contemporary prospective design, longitudinal section. Review of 52 medical records of patients operated on for (IH) by laparoscopy 2016-2020. A questionnaire and survey of physical evaluation and level of satisfaction were applied, via WhatsApp. Statistical analysis was performed: frequency tables and analysis of variance. Results: 100% underwent preperitoneal intra-abdominal technique (TIAPP), resection of the sac without closure of the peritoneum was the most frequent technique performed in male patients, average surgical time 55 min. There were no intraoperative complications, there were slight bruising and bleeding in the cord, as technical difficulties during the surgical dissection. La Burnia presented less postoperative pain (PO). All scars are aesthetic, only one patient presented wound infection in the (PO) and there was no recurrence of (HI). Conclusions: Laparoscopy allows a precise diagnosis of the type of (HI) and collateral hernia. There are various techniques, the (TIAPP) and extracorporeal assisted by laparoscopy (TEPAL), both in trained hands are beneficial for the patient. Parents report great satisfaction with the results of the surgery.
