Biological therapy with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRFG) in patients with knee osteoarthritis has demonstrated positive effects on pain management and quality of life of patients, however, with the advent of new biological therapies such as the use of microfragmented adipose tissue MFAT, which contains a heterogeneous group of cells, including mesenchymal cells. Objective: Compare the effectiveness of MFAT administration with PRFG in patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis. Methodology: The research was longitudinal and prospective, field, which within the nature of the research corresponded to an experimental study, with a quasi-experimental design. Composed of 55 patients, the PRFG group was 25 patients, and the MFAT group was 30 patients, who attended the CMDLT knee consultation, a single intra-articular dose of MFAT and two doses of PRFG were applied, and the scale was performed. of Lysholm and EVA before and after 12 weeks. Results: The average age was 60.40 ±11.13 years. A statistically significant decrease was evident in both groups on the visual analogue scale, as well as an increase on the Lysholm scale, with a p-value: 5.61x10-4 for the VAS scale, and a p-value: 0. 42 for the Lysholm scale, so there was no difference in the results between both groups. Conclusion: The application of mesenchymal cells was highly effective in the treatment of pain and functional improvement in patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.
