  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis
  • Narrative Reviews

During the arbitration process, only original articles which have not been previously published and are not being considered for publication by other journals will be taken into account.

The review process is double-blind in order to guarantee that the identity of both reviewers and authors is protected during the whole process.

The acceptance decision for publishing is the editors’ responsibility and is based on the recommendations made by the reviewers.

Original articles and all the related documentation must be uploaded digitally in the journal’s platform, and all the steps indicated in said platform must be thoroughly followed.

Authors must comply with the authorship criteria set forth in the recommendations for the making, information, edition, and publishing guidelines  for academic papers in medical journals drawn by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2016.pdf ) while following the ethical principles set forth in the  Helsinki Declaration.

The author is responsible for uploading all the information and related files correctly.

The first stage comprises the evaluation by the editors to determine the compliance with editorial standards, publishing policies, and the journal’s objectives. The incomplete uploading or submittal of the article details by the author, as well as errors in quotation and bibliographic references will be the cause of immediate rejection of the article. If the article meets the requirements, it will be admitted for the peer review process.

Each article will be evaluated by at least two reviewers.

The arbitrators will recommend for the reviewed articles to be deemed as one of the following:

  • Accepted
  • Published with minor modifications
  • Published with major modifications
  • Rejected

The editor will communicate the decision to the author(s) according to the recommendations received from the reviewers.

The author is responsible for sending the article with the suggested adjustments and modifications needed for it to be accepted within a maximum period of 6 months.
